Fredericton, NB / Ottawa, ON (August 10th, 2020) -- Rice University Professor of Business, Dr. Sharad Borle, has accepted a consulting position with Avrij Analytics to lead our research in the effects of Social Media on Player Performance.
“College and professional sports organizations want answers to two big questions,” said Garfield Fisher, CEO, Avrij Analytics. “The first is ‘how can we optimize fan engagement that provides value for both the fan and the player? The second question is, ‘does social media affect how players perform on gameday? Most sports organizations indicate that they struggle to answer these and other critical questions related to athletes achieving peak psychological fitness during a time of instant fan feedback.”
Using proven data science and statistical methods, the team at Avrij Analytics, led by Dr. Borle, will calculate game impact, value creation, time to value, and risk associated with player and fan social media exposure.
Prof. Dr. Sharad Borle is an expert in Quantitative models of behavior. With a research and teaching background in Business Analytics and Data driven Customer Management, Dr. Borle is ideally positioned to lead this research and guide any commercialization opportunities that may arise.
